September 11, 2004Dear member, Summer is coming to an end, school has started and here we are preparing for a new hockey season. We want to take this opportunity to make you aware of some changes that are planned for our Club for the 2004/2005 season and other news. · Hockey New Brunswick has changed the categories for all its competitive teams under minor hockey to be in line with other Maritime Provinces. Effective this season, teams formerly categorized as « A » will be « AA » and those known in the past as « B » will be « A ». The development teams («AAA») will remain unchanged except that the former Midget “AA” teams in the province will be known as “AAA minor”. · In order to balance this year’s budget, we have had to increase registration fees as well as the levy for those playing on competitive teams. The following are the new rates:
· We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting an inter collegiate exhibition hockey game featuring les Aigles Bleu de l’Université de Moncton when they meet the St. Thomas Thommies at the Arthur J LeBlanc Centre on October 9 at 7:30pm. This is an important fund raiser for our club that we hope will become an annual event. You are all invited to come and enjoy this high caliber hockey and particularly to see Jamie McCabe one of the newest members of les Aigles, who played his minor hockey in our club. He was also a member of “les Matadors de Mathieu-Martin”. Tickets are available at the canteen in both the Memramcook arena and the AJ LeBlanc Centre as well as at the door. Ticket prices are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. A family package (2 adults and 2 children) is available for $20.00 if bought before October 9. · We are finally on the Web! We are very pleased to announce the launch of our new Website ; www.chcdm.com. Go ahead, have a look! We will be putting a lot of information on the site as the year progresses. Therefore we encourage you to visit the site regularly to find out what is happening and what’s upcoming. The success of our club depends enormously on the volunteer work performed by our members (and yes that’s you!). We need volunteers to assist us with all of the club’s activities. This includes help to organise and run our tournaments, work on various sub committees and much more. We encourage you to get involved in ensuring all our programs and activities are delivered successfully. You can provide your name to any member of the Board of Directors or call Roger Gaudet at 858-9312. We look forward to seeing you at the rink and please provide some positive encouragement to our young players as they play this wonderful game throughout the season.
